Leribe Success Story

My name is Putsoane Chachi, and I am a Data Monitor at BRB under the CLM Project. I would like to share a recent success story involving an Adolescent Girl and Young Woman (AGYW) who faced challenges in accessing maternal care services.

The AGYW was initially denied maternal care services at our facility due to claims of insufficient space for pregnant women. She was advised to seek services at an alternative health center. Despite this, the AGYW expressed her preference to remain at our facility and requested my assistance.

Upon receiving her request, I approached the nurse in charge to discuss the situation. Following this intervention, the AGYW was provided with the necessary maternal care services and was instructed to return for follow-up visits as required.

This experience highlights the importance of advocacy and responsive service provision in addressing the needs of patients. By intervening on the AGYW’s behalf, we were able to ensure that she received the care she needed and expressed her desire to continue receiving services at our facility.
