CALL FOR BOARD MEMBERS

Bacha Re Bacha Youth Forum  (BRB) is currently seeking at least 5 new Supervisory Board members. Supervisory Board membership is voluntary (i.e. unpaid though with sitting allowance) and, depending on role, requires up to one day per month of your time, except for the annual face-to-face BRB Annual General Meeting

To be eligible for consideration you must:

• be Youth under the age of 35
• Have youth programming background in Human Rights, Health or Sustainable Livelihoods
• be fluent in English and Sesotho.
• Must be an active member of BRB

 

In addition, Board members will be expected to have:

1. Strong empathy with, and interest in the mission and vision of BRB.
2. Experience in NGO management and policy oversight
3. The ability to contribute in a calm, collaborative and decisive manner to productive discussion and debate.
4. The time to participate in Board meetings, online discussions and correspondence.
5. Good judgement and an ability to take a long-term view and see the big picture
6. A commitment to inclusion and diversity and an understanding of these
7. An appreciation of the non-executive nature of the role.
8. Ability to fundraise

About the Board

The Board has responsibility for setting policies and providing strategic direction for BRB operations. This is a skills-based board, and we are seeking people who can bring appropriate management skills and experience such as:

• governance
• finance
• fundraising
• advocacy in a relevant field

Members of Board will be asked to:

1. Participate in BRB’s strategic development with staff and stakeholders.
2. Support BRB’s Executive Director in his overall management and achievement of BRB’s mission.
3. Ensure that the Organisation is run effectively and in accordance with best NGO practice.
4. Help develop and maintain appropriate external relationships with key stakeholders.
5. Encourage ethical and transparent work practices.
6. To actively participate in Board activities and meetings
7. To provide advice to BRB’s Director and the Chair of the Board on matters of advocacy, policy, and strategy, from their experience and expert knowledge.
8. To monitor and support the development, performance and delivery of the agreed Organizational strategy and work-plan.
9. To help to enhance the financial stability and sustainability of BRB.
10. To fulfil any specific roles and tasks they may be assigned in order to represent the Organisation, to help manage its finances and legal compliance, and to ensure best practice in staff management.

X1  Finance Volunteer (Paid)   2 Months contract effective February 2024	Finance Volunteer	Purpose: The objective is to improve timely financial records, effectiveness and efficiency of the department aligning with set deadlines. ·       Provide support to District satellite offices on timely requisition and accountabilities and timely reporting ·       Support procurement personnel with contacting suppliers and compiling requisite documents. ·       Assist in preparation of financial reports by collecting receipts and clearing accountabilities. •                 Assist in preparation of project budgets and realignments. •                 Follows up projects payments, purchases, and other financial transactions compliance with project agreements. •                 Responsible for proper filing of all the finance and grants-related documents including maintenance of electronic copies of all the project documents and other back-up systems. Promotes and Maseru Office D1 supervises staff’s observance to the organization’s mandate and values systems, their alignment with finance management policies that embraces professionalism, transparency, and accountability, and that enforce compliance with international accounting standards. Qualifications: • Minimum of a University degree, ideally with a master’s degree in finance, accounting, or related degree in the related field. • Professional accountants must have Chartered Accounting Certificate. • At least 5 years of overall professional experience; ideally two-plus years of broad financial and operations management experience in a Non-Profit Making Organization. • Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with — programmatic and fundraising teams who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds. • Technology savvy with experience in Sage One accounting package. • Be a member of the Lesotho Institute of Accountants. • Must be below 35 years	Closing date is Wednesday the 15th of March 2023 At 1400hrs (CAT). 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿	Purpose: The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the design, coordination and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation, research and learning framework of the project. He/she will develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered by the project. 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: · First level university degree in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or related field. · Advanced certificate in M&E, statistics or economics preferred. · Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in an M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities of international development projects · Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g. qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies · Must be below 35 years	Closing date is Wednesday the 15th of March 2023 At 1400hrs (CAT). They are key in conducting report reviews and presentation, aligning them to specific donor requirements. They are in charge in of developing and managing all project activities. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗫𝟲	Purpose: The incumbent is entrusted with coordinating all CLM project activities at the District level. They supervise Data Collectors/Monitors on a daily basis and they compile the District based project report which also specific to facilities covered by the project.
